Cedar Bridge Changes Its Name

 In All

Friends and Families of the Cedar Bridge School Community:

It is with great enthusiasm that we officially announce the name change of our amazing school!

Cedar Bridge School is now

Same great location. Same enthusiastic educators. Same exceptional education.

Amazing new name.

12 years ago, in 2006, Cedar Bridge opened its doors to Lumby and the surrounding area as a home-school based early childhood program using the Waldorf approach to learning – with a dream of one day becoming a full-member Waldorf School.

In the years since it’s opening, the founding members, staff, and families of Cedar Bridge School have worked diligently to bring this dream to fruition. As you can see in the timeline pictured below, there have been a great number of achievements, bringing us to the place we are now.

This newest change – a change in name – is just the next step in our transformation to becoming a thriving organization providing families in the Okanagan Valley with an incredible alternative in education, from early childhood through eighth grade.

Over the years, as Waldorf education and daily access to nature have become more and more important to parents, we have drawn families from across the province, as well as internationally. We have experienced many families over the years choosing to move to the area – from Mexico, Japan, the U.S., and all across Canada – simply for our school. Our current students travel from Lake Country, Armstrong, Cherryville, Vernon, Coldstream, Lavington, and Lumby to attend. So, it is fair to say that our reach is well beyond the immediate vicinity of our campus. We are proud to play a role in the growth and educational options available in our region.

We have continued to grow and feel that our name should reflect who we are now and what we offer the Okanagan as an alternative educational choice.

We are a Waldorf school – it has taken us a long time to get here and now feel that our name can help to celebrate what we are about!
